"We stayed at the Halepa for six nights and enjoyed it very much. The hotel has comfortable rooms and an above average buffet breakfast as far as budget hotels go in Crete. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They arranged our hike in the Samaria Gorge providing comfortable transportation and a snack. There is free private parking. The only draw back is that it will be a bit of a trek for some walking down to and from Hania (15-20 minutes to the centre). We, though, enjoyed the walk along the water. It provides for the opportunity to stroll through the section of the waterfront frequented largely by locals. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay."
"We stayed at the Halepa for a few nights in the third week of September. I thought that the rate was very good at 70 Euros a night ... the hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. The room was a good size, and it was clean. The staff were helpful. Breakfast was better than most."
