Activities/Attractions: Sandton is very young, only formed in 1969, and lies on the northern edge of Johannesburg. It got its name from a combination of the two suburbs, Sandown and Bryanston, and henceforth a new exclusive suburban centre was established, while at the same time maintaining the park-like residential areas of the two surrounding suburbs.
The Sandton City shopping complex is supposedly the largest non-metropolitan shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere. Along with hundreds of smart formal shops you can find the work of local artists and craftswomen selling handicrafts of the highest quality.
On request of our guests, we are involved in operating local trips as well as tours, safaris, and sporting packages to the South African provinces of:
- Gauteng
- North West Province
- Mpumalanga
- KwaZulu Natal
- Limpopo (Northern Province)
We operate half and full day local trips, plus some fully inclusive tours and safaris of between four and ten days, which all are at extremely competitive prices.

General Information: Nestled in a leafy suburb north of Johannesburg, South Africa and situated on a little piece of paradise in Buccleuch, the undiscovered jewel of Sandton, lies the African Lodge. This makes our Guest Lodge very well located for both the Business person and the Tourist who want the tranquility of the country and easy access to Sandton, Johannesburg, Woodmead, Midrand, Bryanston, Rivonia, Fourways, Sunninghill, Linbro Park and Pretoria.
The well-appointed rooms have all the facilities a guest would require. Due to government regulations, the rooms are non-smoking. Yvonne and Gerard (and their two dogs) are looking forward to welcoming you and we pride ourselves for our superb excellence in service, style and high hospitality standards. All five Luxurious Twin Rooms have been individually and stylishly decorated with a Big Five Theme, exuding a real African ambience, immediately making guests feel at home and relaxed. All rooms have:

Our two Executive Suites are also stylishly decorated with the Big Five Theme and have a lounge, a fully equipped desk (with broadband internet access), air conditioning/heater, an en-suite bathroom with double washbasins, toilet, bath, separate shower unit with massage shower and heater.
We also offer a Self Catering Cottage, with two bedrooms (one with two double beds and one with two single beds) bathroom with shower, toilets and two washbasins. Fully equipped kitchen unit/living room with TV and home theater.
