Activities/Attractions: The Embassy Circle Guest House is located in the beautiful Northwest section of Washington, DC near the heart of Dupont Circle, a wonderfully walkable neighborhood filled with architectural treasures, gourmet food, and great art. We are a lovely 5-minute walk to the Dupont Circle Metro station along neighborhood streets lined with grand private residences, foreign embassies, private art galleries, the Phillips Collection, and the Cosmos Club.

  • Immediately surrounding the Guest House are 30 foreign embassies
  • Around the corner are the Woodrow Wilson House and the Textile Museum
  • Block after block, the streets are filled with original homes that have been lovingly restored to display some of the finest architecture in the city
  • If you enjoy good food, Dupont Circle provides as many restaurants and almost as many cuisines as we have embassies; and consistent with the European feel of this neighborhood, many of the restaurants are open for late-night dining

The entire Sheridan-Kalorama neighborhood was originally part of the huge Kalorama Estate that was situated on a gentle hill overlooking the city. Today the foreign diplomatic community is headquartered in Sheridan-Kalorama. Embassies and Ambassadorial Residences line Massachusetts Avenue from below Dupont Circle all the way to the Washington National Cathedral. A leisurely stroll through this fascinating architectural gallery is a pleasure not to be missed.

From Sheridan Circle, you can walk south on 23rd St., cross the Dumbarton Bridge on Q Street, and within 5 minutes you will find yourself in Georgetown, an historic enclave with a very European feel. Quiet streets lined with small shops and beautiful old townhouses give way to a busy shopping and dining district. Georgetown University and the Georgetown (Potomac River) Waterfront are a 20-30 minute stroll from the Guest House.

"When searching for accommodations in Washington we were upset we could not find a vacant hotel. After staying at Embassy Circle we would never choose to stay at a hotel again: there is no comparison! In a neighborhood of beautiful trees and the world’s embassies you will truly be treated like an ambassador. From the minute you walk through the front door you will realize this bed and breakfast is special. The beautiful architecture is second to none with soaring ceilings and custom doors and mouldings. The architecture is only surpassed by the service, conversation and hospitality from owners Raymond and Laura, as well as the staff, Nelly and Ingrid. If you are looking for a special stay we highly recommend Embassy Circle."

" Our stay at Laura and Raymond’s guest house was absolutely delightful. They are more like family and friends than owners.  The rooms are large and comfy. The home is beautifully restored. It is like coming home – only better. Laura and Raymond are delightful, warm and funny and very gracious hosts. It has been one of the nicest stays we’ve ever had in DC and we are looking forward to seeing them again next year."

"Our room was gorgeous with beautiful mouldings and two, not one, gorgeous Persian rugs. Nelly was a most gracious hostess when we first arrived and was very helpful. However, the best part of the visit was breakfast with Raymond and the fascinating conversation."

"Embassy Circle Guest House is a perfect location to visit Washington DC and take walking tours of the embassies in Dupont Circle/Kalorama and the quaint houses and lush gardens of Georgetown. The Guest House itself is a spacious, bright piece of history in a central location just minutes away from shops, restaurants and the Metro. Thank you, Laura, Ingrid and Nelly for a lovely stay and for your gracious hospitality."

"What a wonderful alternative to a hotel!  I truly loved my stay here at ECGH and instantly felt right at home. Our hosts and their staff treated us like family. The moment we arrived we were offered cookies and tea. The home is exquisite. The Saba’s have wonderful taste and beautiful and gracious hearts. Very helpful, kind and hospitable!  I will absolutely visit again."

"Absolutely beautiful! I can’t recommend Embassy Circle highly enough. The best part of my business trip to DC were the evenings and mornings spent in my tranquil, beautiful room reading and reflecting. Laura, Raymond, Nelly and Ingrid were all warm, gracious and very caring.  I’ll be back - with friends!"

"What an amazing experience to be among some of the first guests to stay at your Embassy Circle Guest House. It was 5 days of absolute pleasure! The warm environment of "mi casa es su casa" has never been more prevalent than in the hospitality that you and Raymond, Nelly and Ingrid shared with us. Our daughter was so comfortable that she was truly heartbroken to leave. You have our most sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation."

"I was offered wine, driven to work on a snowy day, and enjoyed great conversation.  Who could ask for anything more? The new guest house is both elegant and warm."

"In the lap of luxury without the pretension, that’s how my stay felt. The rooms were incredibly inviting, especially the comfortable beds. Everything was elegant but not inaccessible. Laura and Raymond were excellent hosts, ready to engage in conversation or just let me be. Nelly was very pleasant as well. You have a great team!"

"From the moment we walked through the front door it felt like home! The magnificent restoration is awe-inspiring. The architecture, antiques and splendid artwork are a visual treat that would satisfy any soul, but what makes a home exude warmth are the people inside. Nelly and Ingrid greeted us right away with smiles and could not do enough for us. Chatting at breakfast with fascinating guests from all around the world was an added delight. The food and snacks were scrumptious. To our hosts, Laura and Raymond, heartfelt thanks for your kind hospitality. We could not have chosen a more comfortable home surrounded by the best company anywhere. See you next May."

"The Embassy Circle Guest House was an exceptional “find” for us! Its location is perfect – quiet, safe, tree-lined streets and close to restaurants and the Metro. We loved the large lovely rooms and calming atmosphere of Embassy Circle. The owners, Laura and Raymond, were extremely interesting and helpful in so many ways. We enjoyed the leisurely breakfasts before we started our day and the opportunity to sit in the cozy living room for a late evening chat. It was a totally refreshing experience for us!"

"A beautifully restored embassy with the warmth and comfort of home. A B&B with a generous, open heart! Laura and Raymond and their staff welcome you with their genuine hospitality – the delicious food and lively conversation set the tome for your day – a generous spirit is extended outward.  How could we not enjoy ourselves?"

"This has been one of my most pleasant stays to date!  I was greeted warmly and treated like family from the moment I walked in the door. As I was walking in, I was kindly fixed a plate of delightful fresh fruit, honey yogurt and exotic cheeses. The room was spacious and immaculate, with very comfortable linens and beautiful rugs. The whole place felt like home. Staying at the Embassy Circle Guest House is like stepping into and ever-shifting micro-community, a home away from home situated in a beautiful, convenient part of DC. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer."

"Oh my goodness ... I love it here. I wish I could stay forever. I felt very comfortable and I loved every thing about the Guest House. Don’t change a thing! You guys are very welcoming and I loved Ingrid and Nelly. I will definitely see you again."

"A tranquil jewel in a hectic world!"
