General Information: Welcome to The Thomas Lamboll House ... a historic Charleston, South Carolina Bed and Breakfast and a perfect example of how an old Charleston home has weathered and adjusted itself to the changing times of several centuries. Also, when known and understood, it reads like a history book of Charleston and the fortunes and misfortunes which have beset her.

Built around 1739 by Thomas Lee for Thomas Lamboll, it has known many owners, most of whom have seen fit to make changes; however, through it all the house has maintained its original charm and atmosphere.

  • Comfortable queen size beds in cheerful rooms with Charleston's traditional old world style decor
  • Two large guest bedrooms with private baths and French doors leading to the piazza
  • The piazza over looks the tree tops with the Ashley River in the distance
  • The floors and hardware are original
  • The furniture is reproduction and antique, several of which belonged to Mrs. Read's great grandmother

Come and meet your hosts and other guests in the inviting living room and enjoy a continental breakfast in the dining room.

Charleston South Carolina Weather

"We have traveled to Kiawah many times and on each occasion have walked through and around the battery area that embraces the splendid array of ante- bellum houses like your Lamboll House masterpiece. But we had never even considered staying in one of them until we became addicted to a "Bed & Breakfast" fever that has led us to some very interesting places and their owners. We regard our three days at Lamboll House to have been the zenith of this experience. Again thanks for helping to make our trip this year to Charleston so meaningful. We will remember your kindness and hospitality as the high points of our visit."

"I am just dropping you this note to thank you for making our stay at your lovely home such a pleasant one. Thank you for being so gracious and hospitable."
