"We stayed at the Four Columns for three nights, two nights in deluxe fireplace suite #3 and one night in traditional room #16 (decided to extend our stay). We were looking for a cozy winter getaway, where we could simply relax, reconnect, and eat good food, and that's exactly what we got ... The breakfasts were excellent, with a large variety of items, fresh ingredients, and creative dishes. We actually found ourselves getting up earlier than usual in the morning just so we could get to breakfast sooner! We also loved the wonderful baked goods that were available in the common area each afternoon. We never went to dinner at the Four Columns, as they were closed one night we were there, and on the other 2 nights, we found ourselves craving more casual fare. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They made us feel right at home ... We are already looking forward to our next getaway at the Four Columns Inn!"
"The Four Columns Inn is just what you imagine a Vermont country inn to be. Buildings are white, it fronts on the town square in a cute historic town. Our room was nicely, traditionally decorated, large, large bath, well air conditioned, clean and quiet ... So you are away from it all in a quiet, romantic place, surrounded by beautiful scenery. If that is what you are looking for it is hard to beat."
"The Four Columns Inn is a very peaceful place to spend a few days. Our standard room was very comfortable and larger than I expected. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It was great to be able to finish a 3 course meal as we usually find the portions served in the USA so large that we can only manage 1 course!"
"The rooms were beautiful and the food and ambiance in the dining room were outstanding. In fact, I would say the highlight of the visit was the excellent dining experience that we both enjoyed. I would definitely stay at this inn again."
"We arrived very early, 8:30 AM, due to a snow storm that was coming in and were immediately greeted by one of the owners. He was very friendly and invited us to hang out at the inn until our room was ready. He also gave us several suggestions of things we could do during the day. His casual manner put us at ease ... It was a beautiful room with a fireplace in between the bedroom and bathroom. It had a porch and a view to the backyard ... My husband and I both enjoyed our meals very much. Breakfast was also very good ... I would definitely recommend this inn to couples looking to get some quiet time alone."
"I did not stay at the Inn, though recently dined there. The atmosphere in the dining room was lovely, not barren as another reviewer suggested. I dined with a rather perfectionist friend, she also loved it. The food was excellent , it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I am contemplating when I will be able to visit again, given a hectic schedule. The hosts were delightful and warm."

"We enjoyed three wonderful days at the Four Columns Inn ... We walked up the stairs to our room and were wowed by its size, not to mention the gorgeous fireplace, massive soaking tub and separate shower with huge bathroom ... The grounds of the inn are well-kept, with native flowers in bloom and plenty of areas for quiet reading by the stream. We hiked up the mountain on the property and enjoyed time at the pool. The dinner at the restaurant was a delicious experience and our food was fresh and prepared perfectly. We live in NYC and enjoy fine dining there as often as possible, but this restaurant easily compared to our best NYC dining experiences. All of our requests were met warmly by the innkeepers and we plan to return for a winter escape and try out the cross-country skiing."
"We were made to feel welcome by the staff and the view of the mountains was beautiful. The quaint village in which the hotel in centered in is beautiful ... Come here to relax and enjoy your room and the hotel since that's what you're paying for. We would definitely return for another special occasion."
"We love the village and it's a good place to use as home base for a couple of days of exploration on back roads to see various museums and historic spots, not to mention scenery. The food in the dining room is really excellent ... Our room at Four Columns was nice. Beautiful view onto the village."
