Colorado Springs is an expanding city and is the second-largest city in
the state of Colorado, in the Rocky Mountains area. Situated below Pikes
Peak and close to Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs is a conservative
city, with the charm of a typical small Western town. "The Holden House was everything advertised and more! The rooms are lovely, each with a fireplace and tub for two. Soft robes, refrigerators, telephone, TV with cable made our stay so comfortable. And, unlike many B&Bs in the area, the Holden House offers a special breakfast in your room for an extra charge. It was so relaxing. We also booked their carriage ride package and had a leisurely tour through the historic neighborhood with a coachman who was a history scholar of the area. I would recommend Holden House for anyone traveling to Colorado Springs. You can't beat the accommodations, value, food and the friendly staff who will help you plan the perfect getaway or business trip. This gets five stars from me!" "My husband & I selected Holden House for our much needed "get away weekend" and it was WONDERFUL. The staff went way above and beyond to meet my dietary restrictions, the food was great, the room was spotless, wonderfully romantic and we had a very special time. Holden House added many personal touches such as turning our bed down each night and leaving chocolates in addition to the wine social each evening which enabled us to bet to know the others staying there. We highly recommend Holden House to anyone needing a "get away". "We needed to take a break from the kids and enjoy my husband's birthday. We wanted to go someplace nice, but still in town and close by. The staff was very professional and still treated us as royal guests, even though we live in town. The rooms were absolutely amazing and the breakfast the next morning served right to our door was divine!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience and a great birthday idea!!" "Holden House, a meticulously restored 1902 home, makes an ideal lodging choice." "First time signing our new name ... Couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon spot!" "This inn is clearly one of the premier B&Bs in the state." "A wonderful alternative for the business traveler. Lovely B&B. Sallie & Well are genuinely nice people and the kitties too!" "An enchanting inn filled with genuine warmth and true romantic magic." "The Holden House is like a home suite home." |

We stayed in the Independence suite which had a four poster bed, sitting area, fireplace and marble tub for two persons. The private entrance and porch swing was great. I can't wait to come back in the summer when the cottage garden is in bloom, but the fireplace in our room was cozy for quiet relaxation in the winter. It's nice that that Clarks also have lodging for those needing handicapped access. We were most impressed by the personalized service and the staff was so helpful in making our stay perfect for our anniversary." "... We enjoyed a relaxing night in the Aspen suite and woke in the morning to our choice of a sweet or savory breakfast. Things could not have been more ideal. We have since moved to Phoenix, Arizona and as I scour the web vainly searching for a B&B that is on par with this establishment for this years anniversary, I find my self seriously thinking of making the trip up north just so that we might stay in these fine accommodations." "My husband and myself stayed in the Aspen Suite and were delighted by the way it was set up. This particular room is in the main house, and it in the turret portion. The bed is set against the big bay windows, and to the left is the glass fireplace, that is visible on three sides. Next to that is a wonderful little iron Victorian table for two. Beside that a small loveseat, and then the bathroom. The bathroom had a double sink, a glass shower, and the best feature, a tub for two under a skylight. The room also had a clock radio and a television set with cable, but honestly the city is so much fun there wasn't much need for them. My husband and I have found our little get away spot, and we hope that you will find it just as inviting (we are sure you will!)." "We ventured forth to the Holden House, run by Sallie and her spouse. An antique filled Victorian home, the kind of house you'd like to own. We say three cheers and drink a toast, to our lovely, warm, caring hosts." "If you like two-for-one specials, you'll love this Colonial Revival Victorian mansion and its adjoining carriage house." "Holden House is Grandma's, but with a touch of class." "My first stay in a B&B inn was far beyond my expectations. It was beautiful." |
