Activities/Attractions: Oatlands is a peaceful, pretty colonial township just off the Midlands Highway (A1), about 84km north of Hobart. The town has more Georgian and early colonial buildings than any other town in Australia.

Hobart has an abundance of really good restaurants close by, in either Elizabeth Street, North Hobart, and at the water's edge and Salamanca Place. To name any in particular would be difficult. We have so many nice eating places now. The best view of Hobart is from Mt. Nelson, far better and easier than Mt. Wellington. Drive as if to the Casino and at the lights turn right and follow the signs to Mt Nelson Signal Station and, as a bonus, there is a delightful restaurant.

General Information: Welcome to the Waverley Cottage Collection of Colonial Accommodation ... incorporating eleven cottages, five at Oatlands (with three in the village and Waverley Cottages in a rural setting 5 km west of the village) and six in Hobart, Tasmania.
Each cottage is totally self-contained with everything that you may need for your enjoyment and ease of living. Plentiful supplies of breakfast and basic commodities are in the kitchen and fridge. Spare pillows and blankets supplied and cots are available on request.
