In the high summer months, June-August, being near the coast, temperatures average 60 degrees. On the summer solstice, we have approximately nineteen hours of daylight and during the winter solstice, days are shorter. There are a lot of activities available year round:
In the winter, we have ice fishing, snow machining, snow shoeing, and cross country skiing. If you want groomed cross-country trails, those are just 25 minutes away in Homer. We have a great view of the Alaska Range. Just outside our front door, enjoy wildlife viewing - Eagles and Moose abound. Fall is the best time to observe the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights.
