"My husband and I were fortunate enough to have our wedding at Prospect Hill and I cannot say enough about the kindness and the courtesy of the staff and the management there. The innkeeper, Michael Sheehan, was instrumental in orchestrating a very beautiful and lovely day for us (not to mention a five star meal). Our wedding day was pure magic from beginning to end, largely due to Michael and his attentive and professional staff ... if you are looking for a memorable stay that you will reflect on and remember long after you have returned home, than you will find no better place to stay than Prospect Hill. My husband and I now live in Oregon, and we are saving so that we may return to Prospect Hill one day. My husband and I have stayed in many b&bs across the south and in New England, and we have found very few b&bs that were as warm, friendly, and lovely as this place. I urge anyone staying near the Richmond or Charlottesville area to discover Prospect Hill. I cannot recommend it highly enough."
"My wife and I spend our anniversary at Prospect Hill every December and we have never been disappointed! In fact, immediately upon arrival each year we book for the same three nights the next year. Prospect Hill offers outstanding cuisine, impeccable service, a wood-burning fireplace in every room, a truly romantic experience. Our visit this December will be our 15th stay with the Sheehans. They make us feel like family. I cannot imagine not experiencing our anniversary there!"
"We had a marvelous stay at Prospect Hill to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our room (former slaves' quarters) was quaint and comfy. The fireplace was stacked and ready to go and there was fruit and wine waiting for us. The staff was attentive and gracious without being intrusive. We enjoyed meeting other guests during the wine reception, and dinner was delicious. It is expensive, but is a wonderful splurge for special occasions."
"My boyfriend and I had wonderful and relaxing experience at Prospect Hill! We definitely recommend staying in the Summer Kitchen cottage, it had a rustic/cozy yet romantic feel to the it. We checked the other rooms the following day and were extremely happy that he chose this specific room. We thought the place was very well kept and the inn keeper and staff to be very resourceful. Dinner was also very good and the service was on point. This was the perfect place for us for Valentine's Day/Birthday (surprise)! It's a ways away in the country, but well worth it!"

""The Hill" is about 20 minutes outside Charlottesville on a quiet road up in the Virginia foothills. We got a wonderful tour from the owners daughter, who happened to be there that day, and had grown up, and lived in the very room we were staying in. No key, I asked? Not the way things are up here. Very genteel, indeed ... The room we had (Miss Vashti's), was well appointed with a great view of rolling greens on three sides, as well as a wonderful working gas fireplace. Acres and acres of rolling hills surround this sumptuous plantation. The staff aims, and pleases, and there's a cute wine reception (included in the price) before dinner each night. The food is up to snuff, desserts that make you grieve to leave, and special dietary needs (and wants) are accommodated. Wear khakis at the very least, ladies and gents, although there's no specific dress code. A place you might remember for a lifetime."
"My husband and I recently had dinner with friends at Prospect Hill to celebrate my birthday. Everything was perfect. I have not ever had a better dinner, the staff was attentive and very friendly, it was a wonderful evening. Since we live in Charlottesville we did not stay at the Inn, but hope to do that in the future. Whether you are looking for a wonderful Country Inn to stay at or a perfect dining experience, or both, Prospect Hill is a place you must try! Thanks Bill for a wonderful evening!"
