Activities/Attractions: Ocean Beach is a small beach community a few miles northwest of downtown San Diego and is about as unpretentious as San Diego beach living gets. Sunny days are punctuated with the occasional jet roaring overhead, the barking of happy dogs partying at Dog Beach, waves pounding the coastline of Sunset Cliffs. It's a place where Halloween and New Year's Eve are high holy days, and the O.B. Chili Cook Off, the Christmas Parade, and the 4th of July fireworks show are annual traditions.
In many ways, it's kind of a quiet sleepy place that time forgot. It's one of the few places left in San Diego (or the rest of the country for that matter) where the shops are locally owned and managed.
The Bed and Breakfast is a short ½ block walk to the bathing/surfing beach, Ocean Beach Pier for fishing, and the seaside cliffs with their tidal pools. Also, within walking distance are a wide range of restaurants, pubs, coffee houses, groceries, hardware, office supplies, surf shops, post office, banks, etc.
One of the unique shopping opportunities is the collection of quality antique stores and malls. Located just minutes away from the Mexican border and 10 minutes from San Diego's Lindbergh International Airport. San Diego Points of Interest are a 5-15 minute drive from the house:

- Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego
- Historic Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego

General Information: Welcome to The Elsbree House ... built in 1991 in New England flavor, it is owned and operated by Katie and Phil Elsbree who live on site. Close your eyes and imagine the most perfect vacation day you can. Perhaps it begins with the arrival at your cozy B&B, immediately smelling the salty sea air while listening to the sounds of the ocean waves crashing only 500' away. Pelicans and Seagulls flying overhead on a sunny San Diego day invite you to take a walk along the beach to watch the sun go down beyond the OB pier.
Victorian-style décor prevails in the guest rooms, which offer the soothing sound of rolling surf. Decorated in Country English, the Bed and Breakfast features lush country gardens and each room has a private patio or balcony and private entrance. Five rooms are available with:
- queen-size beds and one room with twin beds
- each room has a full private bath
- ample-size closet
- hair dryer
- iron and ironing board
- fresh flowers in the room daily
- free local calls
The Vacation/Corporate Condo is available for daily (minimum 4 days) or weekly rental. Each of the three bedrooms feature a queen-sized bed and full private bath.
