Activities/Attractions: The South Shore of Nova Scotia is rugged, sparsely populated and blessed with natural beauty. Our coastal charm attracts hundreds of artists and artisans who are inspired by the power of the Atlantic, the lure of quiet, uncrowded beaches, and granite giants that dominate the shoreline. The landscape calls to mind Ireland and Scotland.

Picturesque fishing villages are still inhabited by people who work the sea. Wooden boat building, sail making, basket weaving, pottery, quilting, rug hooking and other time-honored skills are practiced by local artisans. The south shore's heritage and culture can trace its origins to early settlers from Germany, Switzerland and France who arrived on these shores as early as 1753.

• Mahone Bay was settled in 1754 by German-born Captain Ephraim Cook. Set among rolling hills, this lovely town rests at the head of a beautiful bay, where three churches have kept vigil for more than 150 years
  
• Lunenburg is one of Canada's oldest German settlements, dating back to 1753. Lunenburg has changed little in 250 years, and has been named a UNESCO World Heritage site, which pays homage to a seafaring architecture that is vital and unique
  
• The south shore is equally rich in history and genealogy. Oak Island, just 10 minutes from Mahone Bay, has lured treasure seekers for centuries. Legends claim Captain Kidd's pirate booty lies buried deep beneath the island, and others speak of the Holy Grail. But Oak Island has yet to surrender its mysteries

General Information: Welcome to our Cottage Rental and experience the hospitality of Nova Scotia in the prestigious South Shore, located in picturesque Hubbards, close to all tourist attractions ... thirty (30) minutes from Halifax and minutes from historical Lunenburg, Chester and Mahone Bay.

We offer a beautiful A-Frame waterfront cottage situated on a white sand (natural) freshwater lake (Fox Point Lake), one mile in from the Atlantic Ocean. Get your fresh lobster sandwiches at the World Famous Shatford Lobster Pound at the end of the cottage road.
