It has many recreational and sight-seeing opportunities of its own - as well as being adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This enchanting community has an interesting history, and some fascinating local attractions. It is a part of historic and scenic Blount County, Tennessee - with easy access to Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee - in addition to the shops and shows of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the more commercialized areas of the Smokies.

The Townsend area with its abundance of outdoor activities, accommodations, craft shops, and seasonal festivals, provides an ideal vacation getaway or retirement home site. It is a perfect destination for visits to Cades Cove and other attractions in the Smokies.

Cades Cove is known for its abundant wildlife, preserved historic cabins and barns, wildflowers, horseback riding, and Smoky Mountain vistas.

Unlike many towns near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Townsend has withstood the development of amusement parks, high-rise hotels and has stayed away from the carnival atmosphere which many towns have embraced. General Information: Welcome to Top of Townsend Cabin Rentals ... rustic, yet modern, conveniently located close to Cades Cove, Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Townsend, Tennessee. Come enjoy hiking, mountain views, or just the pure peace and quiet of the mountains on a secluded mountain ridge with great views.

As you begin up our mountain lane, (sorry - no campers or motor homes) you will immediately know you are leaving the hustle and bustle of everyday pressures and deadlines and entering a haven where you might just see an eagle fly and the pine trees do seem to touch the sky! You will find rustic yet modern cabin rentals with beautiful views, fresh clean air and friendly folks. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our mountain blessings as you visit Townsend, TN. Our 9 cabin accommodation include:

• KegTT - Two bedroom, two bath with a sleeping loft ... complete with antiques, whiskey barrel, nail keg, lanterns, rough lumber cabinets and an authentic pitcher pump can be seen in the kitchen
  
• White Pines - Cozy one bedroom, one and one-half bath, with sleeping loft ... peaceful wooded setting sleeping up to six persons
  
• Rachel's Roost - Named after our granddaughter, Rachel Catherine. One bedroom with queen bed and full bath downstairs plus a double sleeping loft upstairs
  
• Triple J - Come enjoy a western motif in this single story, two bedroom, two bath cabin. Named after our grandsons - John, Joseph and Joshua
  
• Bear's Paw - This cabin was constructed on some of the highest land on our property. It has a breathtaking full mountain view from the rockers or swing on the front porch
  
• Back In The Hollow - Come back in time to the days of moonshine stills, outhouses, wringer washers and wash tubs, as you stay in this cabin with a hillbilly theme
  
• Mel's Mountain Gem - Looking for a diamond of a place to stay? You will find just that in this jewel of a cabin that is decorated in a mining theme and named for granddaughter, Melanie
  
• Way Up Yonder - Come take a ride in your mind through the clouds up, up and away. This spacious, brightly decorated cabin is done in a hot air balloon theme
  
• Hailey's Hideaway - Named after our great granddaughter, Hailey, this mountain home offers plenty of room for 3 couples or a group of 8

Rates: (Prices quoted in US Dollars).

$95-125/night/cabin

All nightly rates based on double occupancy per night with a minimum two night stay.
Each additional adult (16 years and older) is $10.00 per night extra.
Each additional child (5 to 15 years of age) is $5.00 per night extra.
Infants (birth to 4 years of age) stay free.
Porta cribs are available, upon request, at no charge.
