Activities/Attractions: Trenton was first settled in the early 1760s, when it was called Thornbury, or Thorndike Plantation. For many years ship building, fishing and shipping were the livelihoods of the population. The 1900s brought rapid growth as Trenton became established as the gateway to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Lobster pounds flourished as many stopped for their first taste of Maine's famous delicacy.

This is the place to bring the family. Kids, mom, pop and even the family dog will have a great time. Trenton is well-known as the family recreation area of Downeast Maine.

"Found the owners to be friendly and helpful, the room to be clean and the staff to be very good. Had an enjoyable stay and would return again. Great place for the price."

"We were glad we stayed there. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the management is friendly, and it's located almost dead center between Ellsworth and Bar Harbor, so it's easy to get to anything you want to do ... We plan to stay there every time we travel to Acadia National Park. Oh, and they are pet-friendly also."

"We detoured to Bar Harbor on the way back from Newfoundland. We met a man named Steve and he was very welcoming. We were pleased by the low off season rates before the end of August and stayed several days. We enjoyed the on site BBQ, pool and the close proximity to Bar Harbor ... We intend to return."

"This motel is very conveniently located to Acadia National Park. Ellsworth is very close as well, with a Walmart. There is a grocery close to the motel which is nice because the motel has kitchenette rooms available. They have a lovely inground pool that is covered every night. The motel is adjacent to a small airport but the plane noise was no problem at all. The owners are very nice. Our room was very clean and our room was the largest room we've ever had with a kitchenette ... All in all, a great place to stay."
