Activities/Attractions: The City of Chichester, located in West Sussex, was originally founded by the Romans back in around AD 43. Evidence of the Roman’s time in Chichester can still be witnessed by the ancient city walls and the beautiful mosaics they constructed at Fishbourne Roman Palace. Chichester’s most famous site though has to be its impressive Gothic cathedral with its tall spire that can be seen from miles around. The city also has plenty of elegant Georgian architecture giving the city a historical feel despite being very much a modern thriving city too.

For anyone visiting or staying in the area Chichester has much to offer both within the city and in its surrounding area.

• It’s close location to the South Downs makes it an ideal choice for walkers
  
• The pretty harbour and costal resorts such as The Witterings and Bosham are also popular places for day trips
  
• Nearby you’ll also find Goodwood with its world famous racecourse

"Spent an enjoyable night at this pub with rooms. I thought the restaurant was very good and we had an excellent bottle of wine from the extensive wine list. Roaring fire in the pub kept us warm on a chilly evening. Location is lovely with plenty of nice walks."

The nine contemporary en suite bed and breakfast rooms provide a very high standard of accommodation in West Sussex, a relaxing setting for the modern traveller of today, each with super-king sized beds, CD facilities and other comforts of home.

• In keeping with our 600 wines in the restaurant, seven rooms are named after wines and two are named after champagnes

We are lucky to live and work in a very old building (1765) in beautiful countryside. We want to share that with our guests, now - and to leave it in a good state of affairs for generations to come. As the Navahoe Indians said, "We do not own the earth, we hold it in trust for our children."
