Pittsburgh today is one of America's most attractive and most liveable cities; resilience and enthusiasm rather than coal fumes fill the air, and sleek architecture and green parks supplant smokestacks and slums. The popular Andy Warhol Museum, opened in 1994, has bolstered Pittsburgh's image as a destination city, while an enormous new Convention Center will bring in major conferences, which is sure to add to the influx of visitors. Each of Pittsburgh's close knit neighborhoods - the South Side and Mount Washington, across the Monongahela River from the Golden Triangle, the North Side across the Allegheny River, and Oakland, the university area in the east – attests in its own way to the city's history and its resurgence. Easily accessible from each other, they retain individual identities while remaining part of a proud whole. There are many nice distractions while staying at our
B&B. Pittsburgh's Cultural District is vibrant, and there is
nearly always something exciting to see on stage. Let Nancy host your special function. We provide unique,
Pittsburgh meeting facilities and planning assistance to
affect successful and memorable events. "The 3 S's should pertain to the Morning Glory Inn. Safe, Secure and Silent. Upon entering the Inn one must gaze at the interior furnishings, and you will find the touchstones that so many of us remember - wood secretaries, a baby grand piano, crystal chandeliers and a beautiful dining area fit for a Queen. For many people, these images are glorious although misty memories of a uniquely disappearing cultural landscape. Then once you ascend the massive staircase and enter your room you start to relax amongst the charms that your room sets forth and comes alive with shear serenity. Be sure to try out the Southside with its many different restaurants, shops, and live music venues. I have stayed at the Inn many times before and all the times have been very happy and memorable." "My experience at the Morning Glory Inn was top notch. Not only did the charming city inn and garden setting serve as the perfect location for my wedding and reception, the recommendations offered by the Inn Keepers made planning my special day an easy and enjoyable affair ... The five beautifully appointed rooms accommodated our family members for a wonderful family reunion/wedding event. Each suite has its own lovely distinct character and of course its own private restroom. The breakfast was stupendous and included a delicious assortment of homemade cake breads! If you are looking for charming and comfortable accommodations conveniently located in Pittsburgh's historic South Side for business or for pleasure, I would highly recommend this quiet oasis garden spot in a culturally engaging city!" "I just have to say that my wedding ceremony and reception at Morning Glory Inn were truly wonderful! It was such a special evening for my family and friends. I would not have changed a thing. The facilities were fabulous and Nancy and Dave were an added bonus. We had so much fun working with them and their ideas helped us create a spectacular evening. Our guests are still commenting about how much fun they had at our reception ... I highly recommend Morning Glory Inn! We will be back!" |
"My fiancé and I just spent a week at the Morning Glory Inn in Pittsburgh. The inn is elegant and the service excellent. We found Dave and Nancy to be friendly, hospitable, knowledgable and very helpful ... Dave and Nancy gave us excellent information on the best places to eat and the most interesting things to see. They know the Southside of Pittsburgh very well and really enjoy living there in their restored row house behind the inn. All in all, this is a lovely place, lovingly and expertly restored. It has very much of an elegant European feel and the location gives you a chance to really appreciate this very unique Pittsburgh neighborhood. We rarely used our car because there is so much to do that is within walking distance of the inn. Enjoy your stay here. You will be very pleased with you choice." "The Morning Glory Inn is a treasure ... beautiful. The owners are wonderful. They really made us feel at home, but their home was our home and we will remember our stay for years to come. We encourage anyone to visit the Morning Glory Inn." "Try it - you won't be disappointed! My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this beautifully appointed and cozy B&B. The Inn Keeper was quite helpful. We enjoyed the location. What a great neighborhood." |

This place was gorgeous ~ it is hard to believe I was still in the city once I entered the courtyard. The Bride and Groom were like fantasy characters in a fairytale while the ceremony in the garden-like courtyard was starting off the most memorable and fantastic wedding I have ever witnessed. Everything was PERFECT! The atmosphere, the music, the weather. The Inn itself, was just elegant yet cozy...my room was perfect, the weightless mattress and view from my room made it so easy to relax. Dave and Nancy, the Innkeepers, made everything so seamless and flawless that we never needed anything at all! The reception was fabulous, the food was amazing and the smiles on the new Mr. & Mrs. just took the cake (no pun intended) ... I would recommend the Morning Glory Inn for every and any type of wedding or party ... I can't say anything but except it was a memory for me to treasure forever!" "Stayed one night (for the first time) in a bed and breakfast. Morning Glory Inn is located on Sarah Street in a historic district on South Side of Pittsburgh. On street parking was not a problem. Was greeted by owner (Nancy) and helper (Dana). Both were very nice and helpful. Room was clean and well furnished. Room temperature was comfortable. Bath was small but clean and everything worked fine. Needed some extra towels and promptly received them. Met a few other guests who seemed happy with the facility. Lobby / drawing room had really neat furniture and was a comfortable place to sit and talk. Breakfast was good, served hot, and dining area was clean and comfortable." "We had a weekend celebration and did everything at Morning Glory. We love and appreciate everything Nancy and Dave did for us to make our weekend so perfect. We appreciate what they do, so that we have less concerns during a very special day. It meant so much and it gave us the time to really enjoy the event. Family and friends agree that it was one of the “best weddings ever!” Not only did they comment on the Inn, but also how attentive and accommodating they both were. They made our day so flawless and memorable." |
