General Information: Welcome to The John Wesley Inn and Carriage House ... situated among the historic Stockton Row Cottages in Cape May, New Jersey. Located on a quiet street in the primary Historic District, our accommodations is a Carpenter Gothic structure and one of the original Stockton Row Cottages built in 1869 as part of the grand Stockton hotel complex. The hotel was demolished in 1911, but the cottages remain as a reminder of that elegant time.

Every Suite and Room features both a private bath and fireplace for guest’s pleasure. The rooms are romantically appointed with lace window treatment, oriental carpets and Victorian antiques. Whatever you are looking for, it’s here in Historic Cape May.

  • #1 The Stockton, our premier and most spacious room in the Inn, features a beautiful fireplace. The room includes a magnificent Victorian bedroom set with a pillow-top queen bed
  • #2 The Windsor hosts a turn of the century bedroom set with a queen-sized bed and private bath. A newly installed fireplace rounds out the cozy atmosphere in this room
  • #3 The Marquis de Lafayette is our second largest room. This spacious room and private bath is on the second floor. It is furnished with an Empire style queen bed and walnut furniture
  • #5 The new Mt. Vernon, top floor suite with skylight, hosts a spacious sitting room which includes a fireplace, LCD TV and DVD player. The adjoining bedroom, separated by French doors, is a corner room that overlooks historic Stockton Row
  • #6 The Columbia, located on the third floor is steps away from our spacious sun parlor. A queen-sized 4 poster bed and private bath is yours. The skylight gives an open and airy feeling
  • #7 The John Wesley is decorated in late Victorian decor.  The cathedral ceiling and skylight offer openness, while the beautiful fireplace makes the room feel cozy
  • The family parlor, a gathering place for generations, remains the focal point of activity today. Guests may partake of the warmth of the fireplace on a winter’s night or relax with a book on our antique, damask settee
  • The dining room’s wainscot, plate rail, antique brass chandelier and the family silver suggests a time long ago when large families and groups of friends gathered around the table for sharing food and conversation
  • Sun Room – Palladian windows, skylights, music and a complete wet bar offer a great backdrop after a day at the beach or sight seeing

The newly restored two-story Carriage House is separate and private from the main building. It has been designed to accommodate 4 people. During the season, the Carriage House is rented weekly, similar to a condominium. Off-season weekend rentals are also available.
