Copán Ruinas is a tranquil oasis of ancient culture and sublime nature nestled in the foothills of western Honduras, just 7 miles from the Guatemala border. It is 240 km from Guatemala City and 160 km from San Pedro Sula, which is the main Honduran gateway into Copan.

For years, Copán has been renowned for its magnificent Maya Ruins, a designated World Heritage Site believed by archaeologists to be the cultural center, the Paris, of the Maya world. Copán today offers a wide range of activities to delight eco-tourists from all over the world. Only recently have eco-adventurers begun to discover the remarkable natural patrimony of the Copán region offering:

Copan, considered by many one of the most spectacular city's of the ancient Mayas civilization, is situated in the southwestern part of the Mayas region. It flourished during the 7th century of our era and is representative today of what Athens, to the old world; the cradle of its civilization. Because of this and other reason, UNESCO declared it a world heritage site in 1980.

Culturally, the region around Copán Ruinas presents the visitor with one of the most memorable and authentic experiences in all of Central America. You can marvel at the delightfully intricate stelae (statues), descend into the mysterious Rosalila and Jaguar tunnels, or tour the grand Sculpture Museum, with its stunning life-size replica of the renowned Rosalila Temple.

General Information: Welcome to Hacienda La Esperanza B&B ... a unique bed and breakfast and one of a kind resort located in the heart of the famous ruins of Copan. We are the only B&B in all of Honduras (perhaps in the world) who's sole purpose for doing business is to support the indigenous Mayan Indians of the Copan Valley here in Honduras Central America.

The resort is run by Rodger Harrison, President of Paramedics For Children. After normal operating expenses the remainder of the funds go to Paramedics For Children to support their many programs as well as their clinic and school supply programs. Rodger not only runs the B&B with his associate Silvana Ayuso he is also the president of Paramedics For Children.

La Chacha - This room offers one queen bed and one single bed can sleep two adults and perhaps two small children.
El Munco - This room offer a king size bed and is perfect for couples.
El Morro - This room offers two twin beds.
La Princesa - This room offers two twin beds.
