Activities/Attractions: Lagos is a unique little jewel in the Algarve as it has chosen to develop its tourism with taste and class. It offers a balance of the charm and history of the Portuguese culture with a blend of creature comforts and facilities to please the desires of the most discerning tourist. The warmth of Lagos and her people make it difficult to resist falling in love with this seaside town. Lagos is one of the few Algarve holiday resorts to maintain its identity as a real town and not just a tourist destination ... both a fishing port and market town first and a holiday spot second.

Eating out in Lagos Portugal restaurants is a big part of what Lagos is about. There is a delicious array of fabulous dishes to try and when visiting definitely don’t miss the fresh fish! There are many dishes unique to the country and they are all readily available in the area. Fabulous traditional meals are available all year-round and live music nights featuring performance by local musicians.

Lagos' beaches provide visitors with some of the most beautiful shores in the Algarve region. The most highly regarded beach in Lagos is Ponta da Piedade which shelters the bay of the area with its rocks, caves and beautifully transparent waters. The sandiest beaches are arguably along the west coast in Algarve and this is also where the waves are the largest.

• Within a short drive of apartments is the Palmares and Boavista golf courses and Penina, Parque da Floresta and Alto golf courses are less than 20 minutes away
  
• A 5 minute drive will take you to any of Lagos' 12 beaches and there are also beaches only a 10 minute walk away
  
• From the Lagos marina there are boat and fishing trips along the coast and nearby grottoes
  
• There are numerous interesting statues and monuments that have been erected for famous past figures that are affiliated with the town’s history
  
• Attached to the "gold" church of San Antonio in Lagos Portugal there is a small museum consisting of regional items, some which are slightly bizarre
  
• The more recently constructed Marina in Lagos offers a pretty picture and the harbor is the first thing visitors will see

General Information: Welcome to Casa Duarte Apartments in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal. These newly constructed one and two bedroom apartments, each with private verandas offering bay and mountain views, were built with your comfort in mind. Located on the end of a quiet residential street, just outside the historic city wall, it’s just a short walk to Lagos town center for shopping, dining and nightlife.

From the Faro airport the current drive time is 45 minutes and from the Lisbon Airport the drive time is 2½ hours, by highway. We find that our guests enjoy our town side location more for its convenience to evening dining and nightlife (just a short walk away), than being directly on the beach and having to travel for evening entertainment.

• Each unit has a full kitchen for your convenience and dining area
  
• Or if you would like to try the flavor of  home cooking just ask Antonio (resident manager)
  
• There is a rooftop terrace for sunbathing and relaxing
  
• Apartment 1 is ground level and opens onto a courtyard garden. It has a queen bed and will accommodate two
  
• Apartment 2 is first floor with a queen bed and a veranda off of the bedroom. There is also a pull out single sofa. It will accommodate three adults or two adult and two small children
  
• Apartment 3 is a first floor two bedroom with a queen bed and two twin beds. There is a veranda off of the living room that runs to one bedroom, and another off of the other bedroom. There is a sofa. It can accommodate up to 5 people
  
• There is a TV in each apartment
  
• The apartments were constructed to be safe for small children
  
• All linen (bed and kitchen) and bathroom towels are provided
  
• Please bring your own beach towels
  
• Towels are changed twice per week, linen once per week
  
• Smoking is permitted outside the apartments only please
  
• Although it is a good idea to have a car because they are among the cheapest to rent in Europe and there is wonderful sightseeing from Lagos, it is certainly not essential
  
• Airport pick up can be arranged

We require a 20% deposit at the time of booking and the balance due on arrival. Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of deposit. A breakage deposit of 200 Euros is required on arrival (this may be given as a check) and is totally refunded at the end of your vacation after key return and apartment inspection is complete.
