Activities/Attractions: Edinburgh has one of the most beautiful cityscapes in the world, making it the ideal city break destination. With Scotland's most famous castle dominating the city skyline, there is plenty to see and do with the perfect balance between all things traditional and contemporary.
It is easy to see what attracts visitors to Edinburgh with one of Europe’s most charming old cores complementing a "New Town", much of which itself dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries. To the south rise the Pentland Hills and in the north the city is flanked by the Firth of Forth and its sprinkling of uninhabited islands, all coming together to create a fittingly dramatic natural amphitheatre.
The busiest season for tourists in Edinburgh is summer (between July and September) and particularly in August, for the world-famous Edinburgh International Festival, when the city is abuzz with cultural activity. There are also the lively Fringe Festival, Military Tattoo and the Book, Film and Jazz Festivals, which run concurrently with the main event.
No matter how busy Edinburgh gets, it is still a remarkably green oasis of parkland with its own botanical garden. Also within the City of Edinburgh’s boundaries are the remarkable Forth rail and road bridges, which preside over South Queensferry, a small borough that offers a perfect escape from the increasing big city buzz of Scotland’s go-ahead capital.

"Edinburgh is a beautiful old-fashion city where you can feel the Spirit of Scotland. However, staying there wouldn't have been so nice if I hadn't been in a very pleasant place like the Barony House. At Barony House you can find kind people, confortable rooms and delicious breakfast (try porridge and scramble eggs! The locations is also convenient to reach the city center by foot or by bus. I'm going to go back to Edinburgh in the near future and I'll stay at the Barony House again. You can bet!"
"This guest house was chosen by our travel advisor and we would highly recommend it. We were on our way home and needed a one-night stay, convenient to the airport. We were driving and this small hotel was easy to find. Edinburgh and the Royal Mile were easily accessible by a short bus ride straight down the same street - we could have walked it in 20 mins. probably. Good restaurants nearby, large and comfortable rooms, very nice breakfast included. It's easy to recommend this B&B."
"It is a beautiful B&B. We loved our room, it was very spacious. and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was also large and very clean. Excellent location, one block from the city bus stop and only a short bus trip to all the attractions. The staff were extremely helpful with anything you asked for. The breakfasts were delicious and kept us going for the better part of the day. All in all we loved our stay here and would recommend the Barony House very highly."
"Very restful and wonderful service."
"By far the best bed and breakfast I've experienced in all my travels."

"We spent 4 days at the Barony on a golfing vacation to Scotland with 2 other couples. The rooms were a good size and well appointed and each had an ensuite. The service was excellent and the owner went out of her way to arrange dinner reservations, taxis here and there and even a boxed breakfast when our tee times were too early for the set breakfast hours. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. When we could make it, the breakfast was very good - served in a delightful bright dining room - again beautifully furnished. If you're an oatmeal fan be sure to try it - it was the best! We'd highly recommend the Barony House."
"Thanks to Susie and Leo at Barony House for their warm hospitality. The accommodation was very comfortable and spotless and the breakfast superb. The location was fantastic with easy access to the city centre. We had a wonderful time here and were well looked after throughout our stay. I would recommend Barony House to visitors staying in Edinburgh. We will certainly be returning to Barony House in the future!"
"We frequently stay at the Barony on weekend trips to Edinburgh (my husband is a native of the fair city) and always receive a warm and friendly welcome from "Auntie Susie and Uncle Leonard". The rooms (of which we have tried a few) are all clean, warm and well-equipped. We certainly wouldn't go anywhere else in the city as we are now addicted. It is a very affordable and delightful B&B."
