Activities/Attractions: Lathuile is situated just above the South end of the "Lac d'Annecy"- the purest lake in Europe -, with Annecy at the other end, 15 km away. The lake (known as the "silver lake"), Annecy ("the Venice of the Alps") and all the villages surrounding it are one of the most beautiful and charming alpine settings you will find.
Annecy is a enchanting historical town you will find interesting museums, old passageways along the canals between lovingly restored Italian renaissance houses - but Annecy is a also an artistic center and a lively place: festivals of all sorts, concerts, sport competitions succeed each other almost all year around.
General Information: Welcome to "La Grange de Julie" in Lathuile, France ... a French Bed and Breakfast (Chambres d'Hôtes) in Rhône-Alpes situated in it's own garden, away from the road, and so very quiet even though it is in the middle of the village of Lathuile, only 1 km away from the lake and 15 km from Annecy. The surrounding views are of the mountains with their ever changing colors: La Tournette, le Col de la Forclaz, le Charbon.
Owner-architect Jean-François transformed the almost empty volume of the original barn into our family home. The house is furnished with a mixture of family heirlooms, books, toys (old and new), colorful bedspreads and hand-embroidered cushions, books everywhere (mostly in English!), a piano ... almost everything has a funny story to it, and is meant to be used and enjoyed.
