It is renown for its beautiful weather, beaches, sunsets, "old Florida" atmosphere and friendly people. Gulfport is known as the "Gateway to the Gulf," due to its location just southwest of St. Petersburg, which is generally considered the departure for the Gulf of Mexico. Gulfport faces Boca Ciega Bay, which leads into the Gulf. The town dates back to 1867, and today the tree-lined streets around Beach Boulevard still have some of the beautiful old buildings and charm of the era. The small town waterfront treasure of Gulfport is tucked in between St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach. It is a place that evokes the welcome of old Florida with yearlong activities and places to visit. Gulfport boasts many award winning restaurants and shopping that particularly showcase the work of local artisans. It also has a professional 170 seat theater, a refurbished 1920’s style Casino Ballroom and dockage to bring your boat in for the day or evening to visit, or you can stay at one of the extraordinary lodging establishments right in the heart of downtown. Our beachfront is very family friendly with a playground, white sandy beach and live entertainment five days a week in the pavilion. There are walking paths all along the waterfront with bench swings to watch for dolphins. Gulfport provides many entertainment options to its residents and visitors. If shopping, dining and dancing is not enough, then the Catherine Hickman Theater might be the ticket. The theater regularly hosts concerts and professional theater productions for all ages. "We had the best time ever! We were having a girls weekend, we did spa services, eat great food, danced all night Friday and Saturday, and had the best Bloody Marys at Sunday brunch. This place is like a secret oasis, and I want to let the cat out of the bag! Love it can't wait to go back." "If you want a taste of the Keys in western Florida, this is your place. A great selection of wines, great martini's, an atmosphere of British Caribbean and a friendly staff. Good place to meet locals. I have taken a number of friends here and they always love it." |

"As local Gulfport residents, we watched this wonderful old building being renovated, and then restored and furnished with beautiful antique pieces, lovely guest rooms, cozy little dens and guest areas, a charming verandah to curl up and read or enjoy coffee, drinks and excellent casual dining. We recommend all of our friends visiting the area, and they all love it." "Unique Mandalay Bay themed decor. Quarter mile from the bay. Rustic Florida atmosphere with great restaurants in walking distance. Fantastic service by the restaurant and bar staff at this hotel. Amazing prices. Walk to and relax at a small, but enjoyable beach. No rental car necessary, everything needed is in walking distance." "We went on Valentine's Day weekend for a special gourmet meal. It was fabulous. I had pheasant and my husband had venison. The wine pairings were superb. When we arrived to check in there were rose petals leading through the hall to our room and up onto the spacious and comfortable bed." |
