Activities/Attractions: Gordon's Bay is central to all attractions in the Western Cape. It is only 40 minutes from Cape Town, along the N2, and 20 minutes from the Cape Town International Airport. (We can arrange Airport transfers). Gordon's Bay started life as a fishing village. The Old Harbour is still filled with fishing boats as well as yachts and speedboats. Canoeing on the Bay is a popular pastime and sea cruises are available. The new harbour at Harbour Island also berths many up-market yachts and speedboats that can be seen at close quarters from the restaurants, bars and cafes that line the Boardwalk - a touch of the French Riviera in South Africa.

Gordon’s Bay and the adjacent Strand, are popular holiday resorts and centres for both South African and international visitors, boasting safe, white sandy beaches and warm waters. These beaches are excellent for swimming, sunbathing and fishing off the rocks and for water-sports enthusiasts. Across the road from the main beach there are a wide selection of restaurants, café’s, bars and other shops. Beyond the Old Harbour is Bikini Beach, a small sparkle of sand. This slopes more sharply than the main beach, with short, dumpy waves, but it is fairly safe for swimming. It is a more sheltered beach with sunbathers opting to spread out against the breakwater.

• The coastal road towards Hermanus, some 45 minutes from Gordon’s Bay, with its steep cliffs and lovely coves, offers spectacular views across False Bay towards Table Mountain and the coastline towards Cape Point

• For the more active there are five superb championship golf courses close to Gordon’s Bay, including Erinvale where the President’s Cup was held in 1996

• There is a selection of hiking trails for the walking enthusiast
  
• For those who want to shop, Somerset Mall is just 10 minutes away, which has been recently extended and includes eight cinemas and a ten-pin bowling alley

General Information: Welcome to Highcliffe House Gordon's Bay ... a small, seaside town on the Eastern edge of False Bay in the Western Cape in the picturesque region of Helderberg and the winelands of South Africa, just 25 minutes from Cape Town Airport and 40 minutes from the famous "mother City of Cape Town".
