Activities/Attractions: Mullumbimby is a town in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia in Byron Shire. It lies at the foot of Mount Chincogan in the Brunswick Valley about 10 kilometres (6 mi) from the sea. It is a gateway to a number of hinterland areas of great beauty.

The Mullumbimby town and surrounding area became a centre of alternative or counter culture in the 1970s and 1980s, alongside existing mainstream society, as did nearby Byron Bay, and remains so today. Mullumbimby is a hive of artistic, cottage and permaculture industry - a creative community spin-off from the hippie invasion of this northern rivers corner that is reflected in the local art gallery, antique and craft outlets.

One gallery is based in restored Cedar House, which has been listed by the National Trust, while Brunswick Valley Historical Museum’s collection is kept in the original post office which was built in 1907.

Flanking the Brunswick River, the town's Brunswick Valley Heritage Park gives the visitor a glimpse of the magnificent rainforest which once draped the countryside. The park displays more than 200 rainforest plants including red cedar, black apple, coolamon, grevillea, giant water gum, hoop pine, rosewood and swamp mahogany.
