Activities/Attractions: A picturesque 1.5 hours drive south from Cairns and 2.5 hours north from Townsville through rich cane fields, banana plantations and historic towns, Mission Beach is a unique and unspoilt haven. The area boasts many restaurants offering a wide range of cuisine from French, Chinese, Italian and international ... some fully licensed, others BYO. As well, there are a host of takeaways, coffee shops and ample retail outlets for those who want to do their own cooking.

At Boutique Bungalows we have a rather nice resort style pool and being one of only three possible guests, that means no crowds and the biggest problem is going to be removing the kids from the pool.

A short stroll along a rainforest path at the end of our street, will lead you to a magnificent stretch of beach where you can finish the kids off completely, back in time to try out one of the fabulous places to eat in Mission, (Menus are all in your room of course) then you can finally have some time of your own perhaps sitting out on your large private verandah with your favourite bottle of wine!

We highly recommend more than one night in Mission Beach as after you awake the next mourning to a delicious full breakfast, it would be a real shame to leave.  There are some amazing rainforest walking tracks, (child friendly too) where hopefully a Cassowary may be discovered, Dunk Island is at your doorstep, The Great Barrier Reef is a perfect day trip from here, Paronella Park, Eco tours, Rafting, Fishing and the kids have almost forgotten about the TV and Playstation.
