Activities/Attractions: Korcula Island undoubtedly holds a privileged position among Croatian islands. Here are perhaps even more legends, tales and monuments than anywhere else. The island has a number of famous towns including Korcula, Lumbarda and Vela Luka. The oldest written monument in Croatia, the "Lumbardska psefizma", in Greek, was found in Lumbarda. The Statute of Korcula, signed in 1214, prohibited the slave trade for the first time in Europe. It also spoke about the order and management of the city.

Brna is a bay and small settlement on the southern coast of the island of Korcula, located 4 km southwest of the town of Smokvica and 20 km southeast of Vela Luka. Brna Bay is divided into two parts by the peninsula Mali Zaglav. The eastern part has a small settlement and harbor.

From Brna towards the west, continued on the southern island road along the sea, are the smaller villages of Prizba and Grscica. In front of the coast between Brna to the east and Prizba to the west there are several small islands: Vrhovnjak, Crklica, Stupa, Otocac, and Sridnjak. The connection with land is by a ferry from Split to the city of Korcula or to Vela Luka and from Orebic on the Peljesac peninsula to the city of Korcula.

This entire area is well known by its vineyards and the respected wines of Rukatac and Posip, therefore this is how Brna became, in the XIXth century, a harbor for the transport of wine from nearby Smokvica to the harbors on the Adriatic and the Mediterranean, and has turned to tourism lately.

In the vicinity of Brna is the Istruga Bay which has a recreation center with two tennis courts, a bocce terrain, tables for table tennis and a terrain for sand volleyball. The town has a store, a post office and a few restaurants with an exceptional offer of fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, olive oil and excellent wine. Accommodation can be found in modernly equipped private houses and apartments.

General Information: Welcome to the Lagarrelax Apartments on the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia ... located on the Island of Korcula. The Villa is built on a slope heading into the Adriatic Sea on the shore of Brna Bay. Brna is located more or less halfway between Vela Luka and Korcula - the city where Marco Polo was born.

The sea is crystal clear and a nice, warm temperature in the summertime. The sea is only 60m from the villa and is accessible either by ramp or road. The sand beach is 100m away from the villa and a larger pebble beach is near the Hotel Ferral. At around 500m is the sandy beach of Istruga. The Four Storey Villa includes:

• Ground floor with garage and boiler room accessible from the lower street
  
• 1st floor apartment (#4) with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen-living and 2 terraces. One bedroom is ensuite. The other is equipped with a washing machine
  
• The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, iron, fridge with freezer compartment, cooker with oven etc.
  
• One bedroom has air conditioning
  
• Front Terrace is equipped with seats and table and parasol and protected also by a vine. The gas boiler provides hot water and central heating for all the building
  
• Along the eastern façade, there is a ramp accessible for cars, which gives access to the 1st and 2nd floors and to the 3rd floor by stairs. The upper road is at the level of 2nd floor where there is also a garage
  
• The 2nd floor includes 3 apartments, 1 of 2 bedrooms (#1) with capacity for 6 people when using a sofa bed, living kitchen, shower room and a large terrace with laser equipment, and two of 1 bedroom each (#2 & #3), also fully equipped and with terrace - every one with a sofa bed. There is also a child bed in Apt. #3 besides 2 single beds
  
• The view of the sea surrounded by green hills is wonderful from each of the apartments
  
• A receiver of satellite television is installed in every apartment allowing the reception of 300 channels, perfectly clear for example TV5, Arte, CNN, BBC, SKY, RAI , RTP, TVE, DW etc.
  
• The 3rd floor includes two apartments where I live and #0 with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a larger living room. This apartment is luxuriously furnished. There is also a terrace outside the living area and one outside one of the bedrooms
