Activities/Attractions: Marigot Bay is located on the western coast of the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, 3.75 miles southwest from Castries and a short distance from the Saint Lucian National Marine Reserve. It is surrounded on three sides by steep, forested hills. Marigot Bay is a historic landmark, having been the site of a number of battles between the French and British navies.
The bay was used as the setting for the 1967 film adaptation of Hugh Lofting's Doctor Dolittle books. Scenes of the shipwreck, Great Pink Sea Snail, and the construction of the harness for the Giant Lunar Moth were filmed in the bay. The American novelist James A. Michener famously described Marigot Bay as "The most beautiful bay in the Caribbean."
The Marigot Marina Village has a good range of shops and kiosks selling many locally made souvenirs from pottery to fabrics. There is also a bookshop, a jewellers and an up market boutique as well as the supermarket and off-license. Outside the Marina there are plenty of local vendors selling arts, crafts and memories of Marigot. If you would like to take some time out for a massage, facial or a manicure and pedicure, Marigot has two spas and a beauty parlour offering a full range of treatments to suit all budgets.
A short boardwalk leads to the sandy Labas beach, with safe swimming and snorkelling and wonderful sunset views. Cosmus of Aquarius Watersports offers a great range of non motorised watersports rentals including sailboats, hobiecats, pedalos and kayaks as well as snorkels, fins and masks. He will also take you out on a sailboat and give lessons if you need a little tuition. Excursion boats for diving, whale watching, sport fishing and sailing charters will collect you directly from our own dock.
With romantic accommodation, the most wonderful restaurant
in the Caribbean, and beautiful beaches and gardens, we can
offer you a romantic wedding, with everything as easy as it
