Activities/AttractionsOffset by the vast tranquil waters of the Swan River, the beautiful city of Perth is a tourist's delight. Modern and vibrant, it contrasts with its historic counterpart - the port city of Fremantle which is accessible within 30 minutes by car, train or ferry from Perth.

Tourists commonly refer to Perth as the "friendly city" and famous notables have also renamed the city after their personal experiences. Astronaut John Glenn called Perth the "City of Lights" after his historic fly-over in 1962 and victorious America’s Cup skipper Dennis Connor referred to it as the "most isolated city in the world".

Whet your appetite with a day on the Swan River, a picnic to the Perth Hills, a visit to a vineyard or a stroll around the city centre or Fremantle. From outdoors to indoors, a fabulous range of city and suburban shops will satisfy even the most particular tourist, with everything from traditional Australian gifts and garments, opals, Kalgoorlie gold and precious diamonds to succulent local seafood, tender red meat and fresh fruit and vegetables.

"What a place to base a city stay! Loved the location, air conditioning, privacy, breakfast and all the extra touches."

"My Bulldog, Boondy, and I had a wonderful time, thanks for letting us stay at your gorgeous home! We will definitely stay again. The breakfast was fantastic."

"Sarah's house was impeccable and the fact that we could bring our dog was a huge relief and we felt most welcome. Sarah went out of her way to accommodate us, literally giving up her own space when we needed a longer stay at short notice. Great generosity of spirit and a lovely home."

“I think of this as ‘my place’ lots of lovely days and a cosy fire at night.”

“If I felt any more at home I’d be vacuuming!”

“Bored? Never ever. And should I ever return to Perth, this will be my berth!”

“A home from home. We couldn’t ask for anything better.”

"Sarah is a thoughtful inn keeper and the B&B rooms are comfortable."

“What an amazing place! We felt absolutely at home and lucky to have found you. Thank-you for a very peaceful stay in Perth.

“After staying at various hotels on our trip from Sydney to Perth we finally arrived here, and your B&B made us feel we had gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. If we were doing a B&B book, we would have rated it five and a half stars.”

“Above Bored is the perfect antidote to noisy 24 hour check-in hotels, great to come home to after a busy day. I will be recommending Above Bored to fellow corporate travellers.”

“The most kid friendly ‘B&B hotel house’ as the kids call it. Thank goodness Sarah made it clear that kids are welcome here. Loved the rubber duckie in the bathroom and the customised breakfast.”

“What a lovely house – beautifully decorated and full of character.”

“A delightful setting. Everything so beautifully presented, cosy and warm, thanks for the bedroom fireplace, will recommend it to others.”

“I felt the love! Thank you for caring.”
