Activities/Attractions: Isla Holbox is part of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, located in the north west corner of the state where the Caribbean Sea meets the Gulf of Mexico. Isla Holbox is 40km long and 2 km wide with 34 km of white sandy sometimes isolated beaches. The northern side is primarily beach while the south side is primarily mangrove and wildlife sanctuary home to a diverse amount of wildlife.

The center of town is the town plaza or square. Here in the "zocolo"( Spanish word for plaza) you will find the center of activity of the island. The town's basketball court, child's play park, the Catholic church, the police department and city hall as well as several restaurants, small guest lodgings, the island's internet shop and several small grocery or "general" stores surround the square.

Isla Holbox offers the fisherman an opportunity to catch a variety of different fish. Small boats with your own Capitan/mate leave daily in the early morning hours. Bottom fishing, deep sea fishing and even some fly fishing is available from the island of Holbox. Daily boat trips for 4 hours for max of 5 people are available.

After a day's fishing, eat your catch at any of the local restaurants. Just about all of the restaurants will cook up your catch and add some rice and salad to make a meal. Fishing for all ages, children and elders can be done here on Holbox island.

Spotted Whale Shark tours available and arranged, the fish visit the waters surrounding Isla Holbox annually during mid June to early September.
