Activities/Attractions: Morbihan is a department in the southern part of Brittany, based along the coast around Vannes, the capital of the region. There are also some attractive and interesting towns to explore - particularly Vannes and Auray - and the renowned Brittany coastline, and some islands just off the coast that you can visit.
Morbihan means 'little sea' in Breton, and gets its name from the Gulf of Morbihan, which is a large spanse of water dotted with small islands that opens out into the 'great sea' of the Atlantic Ocean. It is also the only department in Brittany to have a southern coastline, with a sub-tropical feel the climate is warmer than the rest of Brittany, especially near the 300 miles of coastline and estuaries such as the Vilaine. General Information: Welcome to Le Charrue Bed and Breakfast ... our charming south Brittany B&B situated on the edge of the small village of Béganne, France in the department of Morbihan. The village is well supplied with bars, tabacs and a restaurant and our nearest major town is Redon. The small town of Allaire, which again has bars, tabacs and restaurants, is within 10 minutes from us.

The accommodations have recently been completely renovated while retaining their original features. We have owned the property for 4 years and have found the locals very friendly and helpful.

We offer a Continental-style breakfast with freshly brewed coffee, leaf tea or herbal teas, from 08h00 to 10h00 each morning. Fresh and dried fruit, yogurt, cereals, and a good selection of breads and pastries are available and as much local produce is used as possible.
