Activities/Attractions: Stratford is an international attraction located in the heart of small-town Ontario. This city - like its premier event, the Stratford Festival of Canada - has managed to capture both elements of that unlikely equation.

Visitors revel in the quality and sophistication of everything about Stratford, from its theatres to its unique and intriguing shops. But they also enjoy the warm welcome and sense of community in this small, friendly city. But the Festival is just one of many fabulous Stratford attractions. Stratford is a city renowned for its:

  • sophisticated shopping district
  • great and varied dining locales
  • riverfront walking paths
  • art and music
  • cultural events on all sides
  • concerts — indoors and out
  • art exhibitions and cultural events planned all season long
  • The Stratford Summer Music Festival offers over 40 concerts, and runs from July to August
  • The Quilt: A Breast Cancer Support Project makes its home in Stratford
  • the exhibit in the heart of the city
  • Antiques are big in Stratford - Stratford hosts two antique shows, both in August
  • historic walking tours of Stratford
  • Garden Tours around the historic, original Festival Theatre
  • personal celebrations, often involving leisurely strolls along the Avon, picnic lunches,  dinners on sidewalk patios, and visits to the beautiful gardens throughout the city

"I stayed at Avonview Manor with my two daughters. We had a splendid weekend. We were treated as part of the family, and swam in the pool with the family. We had a grand breakfast in the formal dining room looking over the back yard. It is bright, cheery and a relaxing setting for a delicious breakfast and friendly conversation over coffee with other guests. The rooms are all elegant and the service and attention is superb. The upstairs kitchenette is also a quaint relaxing corner to read a book or enjoy an evening snack/ meal on your own with your family. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast and hope to return to it with my new husband in the short future."

"My husband & I have stayed here on at least 6 separate occasions. Food is always good; hosts are gracious and friendly; location is convenient; and the Victorian style home is beautiful. Have never used the pool or hot tub, but heard it's great from other guests."
