General Information: No. 40 B&B is a late Victorian (1896) property situated in the quiet and fashionable Bootham area of York, a 5 minute gentle stroll to the old city walls and a 10 minute stroll from the remarkable Minster and the many attractions in the city centre.
No 40 is fully centrally heated and has two letting rooms - Rose and Daisy. The ambience is one of quality, taste and warm yet unobtrusive hospitality. Our aim is to provide guests with a relaxing base from which to experience this wonderful city and, if you have the time, the marvellous Dales and Moors of North Yorkshire or the nearby coast.
Rose (formerly a Victorian drawing room) is a room which evokes memories of the past with the facilities of today according to your needs. It is en-suite and also has:
- a settee
- super-king or twin-beds
- cable, including Sky Sports, television
- tea and coffee-making facilities
- hairdryer
- original Victorian fireplace and much more
Daisy is a doubled-bedded room and overlooks the courtyard garden. According to dictionary definitions, the word ‘Daisy’ refers to “something excellent and notable”. We are confident that our “Daisy” will provide you with a base for a memorable stay in York ensured of an excellent service from No 40. Like Rose this room has:
