The townhouse is located near Eastern Market and only 12 blocks from the US Capitol, within easy walking distance of the Library of Congress, Supreme Court, House and Senate Buildings, the Tourmobile and numerous fine restaurants. Walk to the Union Station and Eastern Market Metro (subway) that provides easy access to popular tourist attractions like the Zoo and all the must-see museums (Smithsonian, National Gallery of Art, Air & Space, Newseum, etc.)

Eastern Market, in continual use for more than 100 years, embraces visitors as well as neighbors in a European village style atmosphere. Built in 1873 and designed by architect Adolf Cluss, Eastern Market is the last of Washington's 19th century markets to remain in continuous operation. It is easily accessible by metro and adjacent to numerous restaurants and shops in the picturesque Capitol Hill neighborhood. Inside are produce and meat counters, plus the Market Five art gallery; outside are a farmers' market (on Saturday) and a flea market (on weekends).

Along 7th Street you'll find a number of small shops, selling everything from art books to hand woven rugs to antiques and knickknacks.

General Information: The entire lower level of the Capitol Hill Townhouse in Washington D.C. provides a suite with a private brick walled patio accessed through French doors that leads to garage parking. The suite also features:

• bedroom with a king-size bed and adjoining bath, has a built-in closet and chest of drawers for clothing
  
• beautifully appointed kitchen has a full size range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and small appliances
  
• kitchen-family room has an island that extends into a bar complete with bar stools for informal breakfasts if guests do not want to dine at the comfortable 40's style dinette or on the patio
  
• family room has a color TV, VCR and stereo as well as a sofa that provides comfortable seating and a full size sleeper
  
• red brick floor and fireplace in the kitchen-family room adds to the feeling of being at home in the country while enjoying the historic sights of our Nations Capitol
  
• the Suite is stocked with bagels, muffins, juice, milk, cheese, cereal, and seasonal fresh fruits
  

For short term visitors, we have our "Guest Bedroom" with twin beds, private bath, telephone, TV, alarm clock/radio, comfortable chair for reading, and a desk with pull down writing surface. The Guest Bedroom also includes continental breakfast. Minimum 3 night booking.
