Activities/Attractions: In the area around our Ranch (45 minutes south and west of Calgary), there is an abundance of activities and attractions that you can visit and get involved with. The surrounding area offers great photographic opportunities. Whether you're a horse enthusiast or just want to strap on your hiking boots and head up the ridge into Kananaskis country, this is the perfect place for families or a romantic and relaxing getaway.

If you're a cross-country ski enthusiast or enjoy skating, we're only 5 km. from the Sandy McNabb Recreation Area. We offer 2 hour, 3 hour and day rides into the foothills around the ranch. If you're wanting to get up to a higher elevation, then our Mountain Day Ride will offer you elevations of up to 7,000 feet. You can come back to the cabin for a shower and relaxation after your ride. Guided horseback riding is available onsite. Also nearby:

General Information: Welcome to Anchor D Ranch Log Cabin and come with us and take a horseback adventure into the high and rugged country of the Canadian Rockies. Wind your way along crystal clear mountain streams, through high alpine meadows, and over mountain passes with your trusty four-legged friend.

We offer an authentic Western Experience, combined with top quality horses that are matched to suit your ability. You will enjoy breath-taking scenery, good food and good times. We deal with small groups (maximum of 12 people per trip), but can accommodate larger groups on request. Expect excellent photographic opportunities. If you like fishing, bring your tackle and try your hand in our clear mountain lakes.

After a full day of riding and exploring at a pace comfortable to you, we will pull into camp where you can kick back and relax while a hearty and wholesome meal is prepared.

Join us for some horseback riding in the foothills or mountains of Kananaskis Country. We have available a beautiful, cozy two-bedroom log cabin. It's an authentic log cabin on the Ranch, nestled in the foothills of the Rockies. Comes with full kitchen, television/VCR (movie rental nearby), loft, and a great view.
