Activities/Attractions: Bristol TN/VA is fortunate to offer many amenities, from the historic downtown area to the scenic beauty of the Appalachian Mountains and Holston Lake, the excitement of the Bristol Motor Speedway NASCAR races, the thriving industry maintained in the region and the wealth of higher educational opportunities.

The Virginia/Tennessee state line runs right through the middle of our historic downtown along State Street. Bristol is proud to be named by U.S. Congress as the official "Birthplace of Country Music."

Were are located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just 1 ½ miles from the downtown of Bristol, Tn/Va. in one of the older sections of the community.

Bristol is a border town with a rich musical heritage. In fact, great things will be happening soon to bring more tourism to our region.

A large musical festival called "Rhythm and Roots" will be a yearly event the 3rd weekend in October, which is also a good time for all foliage. A museum for the "Birthplace of Country Music" is being planned for our downtown region.

Of course, if you are NASCAR fan, you already know that Bristol is the most popular track of the season. We are 10 miles from the track.

We are located just 20 miles form historic Abingdon, Virginia and 45 minutes for historic Jonesborough on the Tennessee side. We are 2 hours from Ashville, North Carolina and 1-½ hours from snow skiing at Boone, North Carolina. Bristol is home to 2 small colleges: King and Virginia Intermont.

General Information: New Hope B&B and Cottage is a charming, late Victorian home located in Bristol, amidst the Blue Ridge foothills of northeast Tennessee. On the corner of a quiet tree-lined street, lies this intimate and tranquil home of Tonda and Tom Fluke.

The large, two-story house was constructed around 1892. Its expansive ceilings, transom doors and hardwood floors are typical of the period architecture. Equipped with:

• a writing desk
  

A game room equipped with a pool table offers additional opportunities for entertainment and relaxation. Guests also have complete use of the relaxing parlor and dining room where board games are stored.

• The Andes Room: An exotic room with a private entrance and gas log fireplace and television is perfect  to block out the world and relax in the cozy atmosphere.
  
• Reynolds Room: The peace and tranquility of a virtual flower garden awaits guests of this luminous room.
  
• Allen Room: White wicker furniture, lace accents and antique quilts make guests of this romantic room feel as if they have been invited to their grandmother's house for tea.
  
• Arnold Room: This room, with its built-in bookcase, sitting desk , television and deep, rich colors gives the aura of being a study.
  
• The Cottage: Recently renovated 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage.
  

After we have filled our rooms, we offer a referral service to find NASCAR Guests lodging in private homes in the Bristol area. From one to two rooms or entire houses, we can help.
