Activities/Attractions: The Tweed valley is located in the world's  largest extinct shield volcano which is home to 5 world heritage listed National Parks, the most bio-diverse region of Australia and the world's largest sub-tropical rainforest remnant. Scattered throughout the Northern Rivers are dozens of delightful towns, villages, and rural hamlets. There are cafes and an abundance of fetes, fairs and festivals. In addition you can enjoy golf, scenic joy-flights, rainforest safaris, horse-riding, arts & craft galleries and more.

The region's cultural mix has produced a vibrant and exuberant regional identity, with thriving visual and performing arts communities. Food lovers will find a new taste sensation at every turn - with an almost unlimited choice of eating houses and dining styles. Crystal Creek was named for the crystals which were found in the area in the 1850's, but today the scenic farm and rainforest areas adjoining the Mount Warning foothills are home to several stylish bed and breakfasts, with proximity to both the Brisbane and Byron Bay a drawcard. Apart from nearby Mt Warning, the area has a unique miniature horse stud, which includes a café and a tourist train ride.

Specialising in peaceful and romantic getaways for couples of all ages, Hillcrest offers a choice of two air-conditioned bed and  breakfast suites, one with luxury spa, in a private guest wing of the main residence; or complete privacy in their luxury self contained cottage, set away from the main residence in its own secret garden and located to take advantage of some of the best views in the Tweed Valley, Northern NSW. The main residence is built in the shape of a square dough-nut around a charming central atrium with tropical plants, decorative fishpond and resident green tree frogs during the warmer months.

The air-conditioned Cottage is fully self contained, with a fully functional kitchen, gas BBQ on the verandah, lounge with wood fire, stereo wide screen TV, DVD, video, stereo system and double glass sliding doors to a private verandah with spectacular views to the rainforests of Springbrook ranges.

The QS Bedroom enjoys views over rolling hills to Mt. Warning in the distance, while the huge ensuite bathroom has a top of the range, luxury double spa bath and separate oversize shower.

All Hillcrest guests enjoy a 12 metre solar-heated, salt-water swimming pool ~ which has some of the best views in the Tweed ~ 360 degrees from Mt. Warning to Springbrook Border Range. Hillcrest caters for a maximum of 3 couples ~ two in the main residence and one in the cottage. As specialists in romantic getaways for couples of all ages, Hillcrest does not cater for children or pets.
