In autumn the area erupts into a blaze of autumn splendor of hardwood forests and clear water lakes and streams. Winter enthusiasts will appreciate the ice fishing and excellent snowmobile trails. Ancient glaciers bestowed this area with a unique landscape that visitors never forget. More than 230 named lakes nestle amid rolling hills and woodlands. These stands of pine, maple and birch are home to abundant wildlife including bear, fox, deer, loons, herons, wild turkeys and bald eagles.
With so many lakes, sport fishing is popular all year round, as anglers test their skills against bass, walleye, pike, perch, crappies, and trout. In winter, snowmobiles and cross-country skiers explore hundreds of miles of scenic trails. Local farms produce corn, alfalfa, dairy products, high-quality vegetables, and specialty products including maple syrup.

"We had a great time at your bed and breakfast. We enjoyed the Five O'clock Club too. It was quite astounding to find a very good restaurant way out in the country. It was excellent. We played a fun game of golf at the Cumberland Course and of course the weather was great. We had a very good afternoon and finished the day with an ice cream cone from the Blaser cheese factory in Comstock. We feel quite lucky to have chosen your bed and breakfast. We could not have planned a better time".
"This has been without a doubt the most beautiful restful visit we've had anywhere. The hospitality shown by both of you is unequalled. Thanks so much for making our visit "home" to Turtle Lake extra special. I can't wait to come again."
"We couldn't imagine another B & B anywhere that could top this experience. The breakfast was out of this world, the setting was a perfect blend of peace, quiet, nature and wilderness ... with the feel of being miles from civilization. The frequent call of the loon and sight of the heron fishing at the edge of your land made it easy to forget about the hustle & bustle of city life".
"I'm listening to the beautiful sounds of nature outside the patio door ... peaceful ... beautiful. This is our first time at a B&B and I think a start of something new."
