Activities/Attractions: Amsterdam is an unusual city in that it has all the advantages of a big city - culture, history, food, entertainment, good transport - with relatively few of the disadvantages: it is physically small, beautiful, relatively quiet, and largely thanks to the canals, has relatively little traffic.

  • AmsterdamseBos (cycle around this lovely area and go to the Pancake House)
  • Aalsmeer Flower Auctions
  • Cheese Market in Alkmaar
  • Volendam and Marken (colourful fishing village)
  • Zaandvoort (beach resort close by)
  • Noordwijk (beach resort)
  • Zaanse Schans (cheese farm/clog making/windmills etc)
  • Delft (cute town and of course the famous Delft Blue Pottery)
  • Madurodam (a miniature version of the whole of Holland set out in a park)

"A warm welcome is always well-received, especially when you've been travelling for 5 hours and you're tired. Karen & Paul are professionals, and it's evident they put themselves in the shoes (well, socks) of their future guests when setting up this charming B&B. Clean as a whistle, close to everything, and the complimentary blackcurrant gin kicks like a mule. Well worth a stop-in."

"Thank you for you hospitality. You made our stay in Amsterdam very enjoyable. We loved the clean, cheery rooms, fresh flowers and the chocolates. We will recommend this place to others. Thanks again."
