"Its such a chance to be able to stay in a magnificent family home in a castle that is still inhabited in the heart of the Loire Valley. All the rooms have all the modern facilities but where its special is that they are decorated with beautiful old family furniture and you can tell that you are staying in the family rooms, freshly decorated but oozing with charm. The family who still lives there is charming and English-speaking, and is very happy to give you tips on how to make the most of your stay there."
"Such a joy to be able to call this fairytale castle home for a night! We wished we could have stayed longer and really enjoyed the new cellar/wine bar where we could taste the local wines and take a tour of the Renaissance wing of the house open to guided daily tours. The family is there to chat to you about their home, and they are really friendly and full of good advice about what to do in this fascinating part of the Loire Valley."
General Information: Welcome to Le Chateau des Reaux ... where charm and elegance describe this chateau built in the XVth century in the heart of the Loire Valley of France. Located 4 kms. from Bourgueil, the Castle of Réaux is decorated with a subtle checker work of bricks and stones.
This is a chance to visit a truly lived-in French château. One needs only to pass through the imposing towered entrance to plunge into the warm, fairytale atmosphere of Les Réaux. Visitors are greeted by at least two, if not three, members of the family who guide them on a charming one-hour visit. French 'art de vivre' is well and truly alive in this elegant Renaissance home. The owners, Jean-Luc and Florence de Bouillé along with their son Stanislas and his New Zealand wife Nicola-Anna invite visitors to try their café-wine bar for lunch or a wine tasting and to browse in their boutique after the visit.
The rooms are decorated with exquisite taste. You will quickly notice the beauty of this historical residence and the gastronomical richness (generous wines of Bourgueil and Chinon) of the land. Enjoy "la Vie de Chateau" in one of the seven splendid chateau and five charming cottage bedrooms, in the family home of Jean-Luc et Florence de Bouillé.
on site includes a park and indoor tennis court.
