Wyoming is a unique and historic community located at the east entrance of
Yellowstone National Park, in northwest Wyoming. Colonel William F.
"Buffalo Bill" Cody founded the town of Cody in 1896. Over the
year's, Cody has grown to become the trade center for an area larger than
some states. The end result is that Cody can provide the cultural and
social amenities, shopping, family activities and the feel of a large city
while maintaining the rural character and quality of life of a small
western community. Cody Country has a well developed hospitality industry with fine dining, world class museums and western activities. Our motel is conveniently located on Cody's scenic west side, with a super view of the mountains, on Highway 14-16-20 (Yellowstone Park Highway). We are less than 1 minute from both Old Trail Town and the Cody Nite Rodeo, and only 3 minutes from the world-famous Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody's three major attractions. "I have been to Cody for the past three years for the Cody Stampede and would have to say that the Big Bear Motel is the best place to stay. It is walking distance from the rodeo grounds and a very short drive into town. The Big Bear is the best place to stay as far as I am concerned." "A bit of a throwback from the 60's - but the room was very clean, and the pool is big. Great for families! Wake up early and score some donuts/juice/coffee in the office. You can (nearly) walk to the Rodeo too - about 1/4 mile up the road - this is handy." |

It was one of the best nights we had on our whole trip. We enjoyed the family atmosphere, clean, quiet room, large clean pool and friendly service. It had a nice country feeling, while still being on the edge of town to make everything in Cody easily accessible. We had stayed at too many chain motels and found this place to be a delightful change. (I especially enjoyed the reasonable rates.) For the family on vacation looking for comfortable and friendly value, this motel is great. We will always recommend it and make it a point to stay again if we are out in Cody." "Whenever I'm in Cody I stay at the Big Bear. It was my home for two weeks when I attended a Larom Summer Institute, and the staff always treats me like family. The Big Bear is dog-friendly. and my pooch always got treats and pets from the staff. Big Bear is home!" "We stayed there for 3 nights. I loved the quiet of the place and it has a nice heated pool which is nice on the cool evenings in Cody. I liked the setup of the room, a wall separates the bathroom area from the beds and the sinks are outside the bathroom. We would stay there again." "A good price, and it is only about 1/4 mile from the rodeo. It's a little family-run motel, and they do a good job keeping it clean. If you want good value and clean for a night or 2, then the Big Bear is a nice place to stay." "Great pool, what a value, very nice family owned MOTEL." |
