Activities/Attractions: Charlotte Amalie is the capital of the United States Virgin Islands and the most popular cruise port in the Caribbean.

Charlotte Amalie (named for a Danish Queen) is where the ships dock and the white and pastel houses are heavily sprinkled against a background of emerald hills.

When walking in St. Thomas, you will see the bustle of Main Street, and cool emerald hills. Look also for the view from Mountain Top, the spiral of winding streets from the base of Savan and the quiet French countryside feeling on the far side of the island.

We are just a few minutes walking distance to many points of interest such as:

  • Government House
  • the 99 Steps
  • the 17th Century Fort Museum
  • Oldest Jewish synagogue in the western hemisphere
  • Duty-Free Shops
  • Restaurants
  • Downtown Main Street
  • St. John - Charlotte Amalie ferry
  • Tortola - Virgin Gorda Ferry Dock
  • Emancipation Garden
  • Market Square (Rothschild Francis)
  • Parks

"I just wanted to write and let you know what a pleasant stay we had at Bunker Hill. It was the cleanest place and it was very quaint. We appreciated the complementary breakfast and coffee as well as the ride to the airport. We will recommend Bunker Hill to anyone coming to the island and would certainly stay here in the future."

"We really liked our stay at this hotel! We visited St. Thomas in August and we had a room with a balcony which offered a beautiful view of downtown! Also, the staff was very kind and friendly, from the receptionist to the lady who made breakfast! We felt very welcomed!"

"I rate this hotel five stars! It's perfect to come into before or after a cruise, to stay here economically while you day-trip around the Virgin Islands, or just to drop down to the islands for some sun in the middle of a cold winter! No, it's not the Ritz, but it's clean, close in, and employ terrific staff! Sitting on a patio with a beautiful view enjoying your hot cooked breakfast, doesn't get any better. I visit the Virgin Islands every year. I go to appreciate the local people, the scenery, and just that tropical air! There is no spa, Olympic-sized pool or lounge with a live band, but what you do get for the money is well worth the visit. See you there!"

"Just returned from a 3 night stay at Bunker Hill and enjoyed every minute of it! It's not fancy, just clean, quiet, and within walking distance of shopping, ferries, and restaurants. The hotel offers a beautiful view by day and evening. A delicious breakfast was served each morning on the patio by a very gracious staff. I would not hesitate to return!"

"The owners and staff made our stay so enjoyable. The ride to the airport was nice as a finishing touch. We will be back!"
