Charlotte Amalie (named for a Danish Queen) is where the ships dock and the white and pastel houses are heavily sprinkled against a background of emerald hills.
When walking in St. Thomas, you will see the bustle of Main Street, and cool emerald hills. Look also for the view from Mountain Top, the spiral of winding streets from the base of Savan and the quiet French countryside feeling on the far side of the island.

"I rate this hotel five stars! It's perfect to come into before or after a cruise, to stay here economically while you day-trip around the Virgin Islands, or just to drop down to the islands for some sun in the middle of a cold winter! No, it's not the Ritz, but it's clean, close in, and employ terrific staff! Sitting on a patio with a beautiful view enjoying your hot cooked breakfast, doesn't get any better. I visit the Virgin Islands every year. I go to appreciate the local people, the scenery, and just that tropical air! There is no spa, Olympic-sized pool or lounge with a live band, but what you do get for the money is well worth the visit. See you there!"
