"Chris and I stayed at Mountain Brook for our honeymoon in 1997. We had an amazing time and have never forgotten our memories in our Honeymoon Cottage. Thank you for always making your guests feel welcomed. Mountain Brook will always be, to me, a place of beauty, peace, tranquility and above all, friendliness! Thank you for lifelong memories and your dedication to helping create them!"

"I've stayed many times at MB both as a happily married person and a happily single person. I always include a trip to Dillsboro, Waynesville and Ashville, NC. This place refreshes the soul and gets your mind back on the right track. Any time I have an opportunity, I return to Mountain Brook for some sanity."
"We just got back from spending a whole week there. We were already wishing we were back there on the drive home. We definitely will visit again. Hopefully Soon."
"What a wonderful, peaceful, memory I have of Mountain Brook. My 11 year old son and I will never forget our time spent there! We hope to be back soon!"
"Still a beautiful place with great hosts. Everyone should try it. The best to the 3 of you."
"Thank you God, for the splendor of your creation. Thank you Gus, Michele and Maqelle for this haven for weary souls near Ashville, North Carolina. It's like coming home."
General Information: Mountain Brook Fireplace Cottages in Sylva, North Carolina were designed and constructed of native materials in the 1930s by the Clark Family and formerly known as Clark's Cottages, the property was distinctive for its over-shot waterwheel.
The McMahon's bought the property in 1979 from the Clarks and have updated it through the years. The sparkling brooks, undisturbed woods and waterfalls still remain the most impressive thing about the property. We maintain the "old-timey" feeling and provide a tranquil getaway place for folks who need a respite from their busy lives!
Western North Carolina offers some of

"I think the core strength of what you have built is in knowing what Mountain Brook is ... and is not ... and remembering to guard its strengths and not try to make it all things to all people. Thank you from two who appreciate your vision."
"I recently returned from a romantic and relaxing weekend at MB. I enjoyed the old-fashioned feel of the cabins and I loved reading the big blue book while I listened to the sounds of nature. Thank you for making our stay such a nice one!"
"We had a lovely time. Thank you. The evening before we left, we took a walk past a dad and son working on their bikes on the porch, with someone practicing violin inside, and next door, a woman reading aloud to her man out on the porch. A striking picture. Doesn't that say a lot about Mountain Brook and the people who enjoy it."
"Our whole family loves to be at Mountain Brook. It has become a part of our lives. When we leave it, we are already planning our next trip back. The best part of it is that my husband's work can't contact him there!"
We did survive three days without a TV or phone without a problem ... This was the 'US' break we needed."
