Activities/Attractions: Danbury is located in Merrimack County and was formed in 1793. The town was originally named after Danbury, England, the site of an eleventh century Danish camp.
The town of Danbury is located amidst an array of several more expansive areas with a variety of amenities. Danbury has two large lakes; Newfound Lake which boasts an idyllic setting for more tranquil water activities; and farther north, Lake Winnipesaukee which provides a bustling shoreline and more extensive water usage.
Many New Yorkers have moved to this area because of its breathtaking beauty, lakes and attractive schools and economy. But most of all, people move here for the peace and quiet and rural lifestyle this slice of America offers.

"When you are used to skiing in Utah it comes at a great surprise to find a great place in New Hampshire to ski with such a lovely place to stay close by. The Inn at Danbury is fantastic, the feel of the place is radiant with love and kindness. The Inn keepers are the best, with 4 lovely children to assist them with their fantastic HUGE breakfast. The Bistro at the Inn is exceptional. The Innkeepers prepare food from Austria, Switzerland and Germany, even though Alexandra is from The Netherlands and Robert from New Jersey. Go and enjoy yourself, ski, rest, eat and you too will know what I mean!!"
