There are 14 restaurants and cafes locally specialising in fish and shellfish. The nearby town of Ericeira is a charming seaside town with numerous blue & white cottages. Ericeira has 3 beaches, down from the spectacular cliffs. There are 40 to 50 restaurants and cafes providing locally caught fish and shellfish for which the area is renowned. The market town of Mafra is the some 15 minutes inland is worth visiting if only to visit the magnificent palace. A short drive away is Sintra with the summer palace of the Portuguese old royal family in amongst the interesting buildings. Lisbon, the capital and only 45 miles away, is worth a couple of days visiting for the museums and art galleries alone. "Thank you for taking good care of us! A great intro to Portugal. General Information: Villa Vista at Tras da Moita in Mafra, Portugal is a quality, large, 5 bedroom villa providing superior bed and breakfast accommodation standing on its own in a prime position with a wonderful view of the coast and beach of S. Lourenco, 5 kilometres from Ericeira, a quaint fishing village. The villa has 5 double/twin en-suite rooms, four of which have a sea view & their own door onto the balcony. You can book just one room and meet other discerning guests. Outside peak season we will be happy to take long weekend bookings for those who want a short break in the sun.

The quality of your accommodation is first class and is just what we wanted with regard to size, convenience and most of all cleanliness. The Pool Area was loved by the kids (and the old guys!!). The location is close enough to Lisbon yet is right in the heart of a quality holiday destination. We found the local facilities in S. Lourenco/Ribamar & Ericeria (all within 5 minutes) to be just what we wanted, a quality beach (not too busy /not too quiet), fantastic restaurants to suit any pocket and taste and most of all a very warm welcome from an English speaking Portuguese community. The attractions of Lisbon and Sintra are easily accessible from the Villa and gave us some great days out. Although the football didn't turn out the way the band would have hoped the accommodation your offered certainly did.
