Activities/Attractions: Wood Valley is a lush crescent shaped forest tucked away on the southern slopes of Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is paradise only few will experience. Your destination becomes a journey through a mystical forest with deep ravines carved into the raw earth to expose the naked lava floor. "Hale Aloha Aina" is centrally located between the town of Volcano and Kailua, Kona, which gives you lots to explore. An ideal location if you want to experience the lush tropical side of Hawaii, the active Volcano of Kilauea and some of the best snorkeling areas on the island. All are within a 90 minute drive.

General Information: "Hale Aloha Aina" is a charming Hawaiian vacation cottage rental nestled on eight acres of lush tropical flora in enchanting Wood Valley. It is the perfect Hawaii vacation home to spend your entire Hawaiian vacation and for your rendezvous around Hawaii’s Big Island.

Our Hawaiian vacation rental home provides 700 square feet of comfortable, romantic living just right for a couple and an affordable alternative for those on a budget too. It is a great place to “hang loose” after a long day of exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Punalu'u Black Sands Turtle Beach and the many other spectacular sites just minutes away.

Hale Aloha Aina comes with everything you could possibly need, plus all the extras that give it that special touch. The cottage is equipped with the best of everything to make your stay safe, efficient, and “user friendly”. This home conserves our precious resources by utilizing solar electric power and a generator. The water heater, stove, and refrigerator run on propane. We even have the luxury of drinking pure spring water from the tap which is rare on the islands.

• The one bedroom cottage also has a living room, spacious full bathroom, dining room area, kitchen, and private outdoor lanai.
  
• Eurasian accents adorn the rich mahogany furniture.
  
• Soft sheets and a comfortable queen size bed lends to a good nights rest.
  
• For an extra guest or child, there is a single futon in the living area with extra linens.
  
• The bathroom is spacious with a tub and shower. There is even a warm shower outside to get rid of the sand in your swimsuits!
  
• All of the linens are provided and the standard toiletries are included such as soap and tissue.
  
• Washer and dryer for weekly guest stays.
  
• Snorkel gear provided upon request.
  
• Our kitchen is fully equipped with all of the conveniences of home to cook your favorite meals. A microwave, blender, rice cooker, toaster, coffee maker, and grinder are all provided.
  
• You can even BBQ with the gas grill on the lanai.
  
• You will find beach chairs, lawn chairs, fold out mattress, coolers, flashlights, first aid kit, candles, lanterns, clothes line and a fire extinguisher.
  
• A television with VCR/DVD player is provided for movies, a CD disc player with Hawaiian music, and a telescope for stargazing. A great selection of Hawaii interest books and local information is available also.

"We had a wonderful stay at Hale Aloha Aina. The weather was super, the volcano was awesome, the bed was oh so comfy, and the house was so peaceful. We got to see the moonrise from be the first night and the sunrise the next morning. You planned the layout impeccably! This is the first time we have ever stayed close to the volcano so we could spend extended time getting close. Usually by the time we drive down from Kona and are contemplating the drive home we don't get to see much. This time we walked out to watch the plume on day. The next day we geared up and hiked out in the afternoon to watch the active lava. It was moving really well. Got to see several break outs very close and the 'falls' up on the Pali were awesome after nightfall. Even managed to walk out after dark without breaking anything."
