Weaverville Hotel & Emporium Trinity Alps Gold Rush California Lodgings Accommodations
Innkeepers: Jeanne and Brian Muir
Address: 203 Main Street, P.O. Box 0537, Weaverville, California 96093-0537 USA
Activities/Attractions: Everyone in Trinity County is pretty much agreed that our number one attraction is our gorgeous scenery ... you are going to love Trinity County. The next major attraction to this area is, of course, our sense of history. Although the California Gold Rush is what most people think of when they see this historic town, few know about the thousands of Chinese who lived here too, and worked the mines. The history of this area also extends back much further, of course, to the people who lived here long ago, the Nor-Rel-Muk Indians. The Weaverville Hotel and Emporium has within a two block radius:
There are several interesting shops as well, including our own 1,000 sq. ft. Emporium featuring fine chocolates, old books and photos, antique reproduction silver jewelry and collectibles, European fragrances and soaps, retro-style clothing, and other gift items.
"Nestled in the historic district of our hundred-plus year old gold mining town, the hotel was recently brought back to life, with beautiful flair and elegance ... Their gift emporium has such beautiful items, carefully chosen by Brian and Jeanne on their "hunting trips" ... My son was absolutely flabbergasted when they were shown into the absolute BEST room in the house - Mr. & Mrs. Muir gave them the wedding gift of upgrading them to the most expensive room they had ... Every room is immaculate, crisp and clean linens, towels, and personal touches everywhere. Every room is beautiful!"
General Information: Weaverville Hotel & Emporium is located in the midst of the Trinity Alps, in the historic downtown district of the old gold rush town of Weaverville, California. "There is not a single stoplight in the entire county." The hotel, originally built in 1861, was last rebuilt in 1880 after burning to the ground.
We have painstakingly restored it to the original high ceilings and wood floors, attempting to recapture as much of the original charm as possible. The building is on the National Register of historic places. All room are named after Trinity County gold mines and include:
A refrigerator with a limited amount of ice is available in the store-room across from Room 2. A telephone is available to our guests in the telephone booth at the top of the stairs. Sorry, no televisions except in Room 1, and downstairs in the small lounge behind the parlor.
There are also several swings and comfortable rocking chairs available on the porch, along the side of the hotel for guests’ use and enjoyment.”
Payment Accepted: Visa, MasterCard.
Rates: (Prices quoted in US Dollars).
A Hotel Breakfast Credit is included at nearby restaurants.
"The newly restored historic hotel has great rooms, fantastic bedding/linens & is easy to find ... The Hotel fulfilled every expectation and then some, by adding a charm which will shape your whole experience of the town ... Located on main street, you are walking distance to many boutiques and cafes ... we highly recommend the Joss House. I have to say we've stayed in a couple places within Weaverville and this one has definitely raised the bar!"
