Laguna Quilotoa is a beautiful volcanic crater lake located at 3800 meters (12,400 feet) between Zumbahua and Chugchilan. Its emerald water spans two kilometers. Local legend claims it is connected to the ocean and is therefore salty and sulfuric. The trail is now marked for the world famous hike from Laguna Quilotoa to Chugchilan through the Rio Toachi Canyon. Laguna Quilotoa is also accessible by car or bus.

General Information: The Black Sheep Inn is an inexpensive ecologically friendly hotel high in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador. Perched on a hillside our rural lodge is a perfect place to discover centuries-old culture and diverse ecosystems.
The Black Sheep Inn is a Bed & Breakfast which features gourmet vegetarian food with organic produce from our gardens. Our hotel is in a perfect location for backpackers, tourists, travelers, vacationers and families to see the real Ecuadorian Highlands.

- The Inn is intimate, with nine private rooms, each with two
double beds (some rooms have more beds) and one bunkhouse
